Project Description
The main objective of the project is to Strengthening Capacity to Design and Implement Water and Rural Infrastructure Facility (hereinafter called the (“Technical Assistance”) to the Government for the Bangladesh: Irrigation Management Improvement Project. To achieve the main objective, the consultants have to provide services to the followings: Car-ryout topographic surveys of the cross section and maximum and minimum water levels in khal. Make a note of the condition of all structures. Make a note of the type and size of the pump: size (inch or mm), power rating (kW), usual or rated discharge (l/s). Take 5-10 cap-tioned photos for each scheme of key / critical structures including pump, header tank, and at least two standpipes and two outlets. Field visit Detailed description of actual services provided by the staff: Survey Report: Salient information (name of scheme, upazila, date commissioned, design command area, actual command area, number of farmers, name of pump operator, energy used in previous irrigation season, irrigation ser-vice fees paid, etc.). Information of the pump: Type and rating (kW), Flow (l/s). For each outlet: (i) receives good flow, (ii) receives poor flow, or (iii) receives no flow. Topographic data for buried pipelines, structures (header tank, stand-pipes, and outlets) recorded in tabular format: Name of structure, GPS coordi-nates (degrees, minutes, seconds), Elevation, height, etc. with short description of condi-tion of structure.
