We are pleased to share the successful completion of the Inception Workshop for the study on the “Development of an Action Plan and Capacity Building of BIWTA to Ensure Effective and Sustainable Long-Term Maintenance of River Terminals, Landings, and Other BIWTA Assets.”

Key Objectives of the Study:
• Develop a comprehensive Asset Management System and Plan for BIWTA’s infrastructure and activities.
• Design a tailored organizational framework and action plan to build BIWTA’s internal capacity for effective asset management implementation.
• Align BIWTA’s organizational structure, planning, and workforce capabilities with the new asset management system.
• Identify and prioritize income-generating assets suitable for management under Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contracts.

This World Bank-funded initiative marks a significant step towards sustainable water transport infrastructure and improved operational efficiency in Bangladesh.
